Walker Youth 2014 Sailing Program

Fleet Sales LLC, in cooperation with Sailing Central LLC, a mobile sailing school from the Twin Cities (, is hosting a summer sailing class for youth age 10 and up

This is a five-day, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily classroom and on the water experience, using the latest in sailboat technology and design.

Sailing Central LLC will come to Walker with the big trailer containing six sailboats of the latest modern design, a safety boat and all of the necessary supporting equipment and gear. Students provide snacks, lunch, beverages, sunscreen, shoes for soggy work and clothing to get wet and/or keep warm and dry.

Yes, we are teaching sailing. But what we are really doing is using the inherent challenges of sailing to build confidence, self-reliance, teamwork and problem-solving skills. Our curriculum also includes Boater Safety Education and Exam.

Join us for five days of fun, sailing, wind, water and loads of learning experience. We have capacity for only 10 students per session, so don’t miss this incredible opportunity.

Sponsorship: If you want to support the youth in the community and get kids unplugged from the devices of the day and engaged in the learning life skills on the water, contact Captain Tom Beriou or call (218) 547-1188. Make an offer of support for this unique sailing program.
